Abstract

The current status of the analysis of neutron reflectivity data is presented. The advantage of approximating the chemical depth profile by linear segments (rather than a histogram) is illustrated. An alternative method for obtaining the reflectivity analytically is derived and its performance compared to that of the Distorted Wave Born Approximation. Methods for inverting the measured reflectivity to obtain the profile are also discussed.
