Abstract
Spectral analysis has extended the usefulness of the electroencephalogram (EEG) through the quantitation and extraction of more information than that obtainable from visual analysis (Cohen et al. 1976; Duffy 1989; Oken et al. 1989). The EEG is generally asymmetric in vascular diseases of the brain (Jonkman et al. 1985). The goal of this article is to demonstrate the relevance of EEG mapping in patients with hemispheric vascular diseases through the comparison of visual analysis, clinical, and computerized tomography (CT) scan findings.
