Zusammenfassung
Obwohl sich die vor fast 40 Jahren entdeckten klassischen Neuroleptika als hochwirksame und in ihrer Anwendung sichere Medikamente bewährt haben, ist die Suche nach neuen, antipsychotisch wirksamen Substanzen immer wieder — und in den letzten Jahren verstärkt — vorangetrieben worden. Idealerweise sollten diese neuen Antipsychotika auch bei den Neuroleptika-Nonrespondern wirksam sein und ein günstigeres Nebenwirkungsspektrum als die klassischen Neuroleptika aufweisen.
