Zusammenfassung
Die EKB besteht darin, daß durch elektrische Reizung des Gehirns ein generalisierter Krampfanfall ausgelöst wird. Das Verfahren wurde erstmals von Cerletti und Bini 1938 zur Behandlung einer katatonen Schizophrenie angewandt (Degkwitz et al. 1982; Harrer 1984; Helmchen 1973; Ottosson 1987).
