Zusammenfassung

Es besteht allgemeiner Konsens darüber, daß das primäre Offenwinkelglaukom (POWG) in seiner typischen Erscheinungsform durch die drei folgenden Kriterien definiert ist: 1. Augeninnendruck an mindestens einem Auge stets über 21 mm Hg; 2. offener Kammerwinkel mit unauffälligen Kammerwinkelstrukturen, keine weiteren okulären oder allgemeinen Erkrankungen, die den erhöhten Augeninnendruck erklären könnten; 3. typische glaukomatöse Gesichtsfeldveränderungen und/oder Papillenläsionen, wie in Kap. 5 und 6 beschrieben.
