Zusammenfassung
Soweit es im Rahmen dieses Buches notwendig ist, sollen für die hier dargestellten Organlokalisationen einige Fragen der Epidemiologie und der Prognose dargestellt werden. Dies ist erforderlich, da die vorliegende Darstellung über die einfache Abhandlung einzelner Tumormarker hinausgeht und den Leser zu einer kritischen Betrachtungsweise dieser Labormethoden anregen soll. Nicht jedes Karzinom in der Gynäkologie ist geeignet, mit modernen biochemischen und immunologischen Methoden überwacht zu werden. Wir haben uns deshalb entschlossen, uns auf das Zervixkarzinom, das Ovarialkarzinom, das Mammakarzinom und das Chorionepitheliom zu beschränken. Nach dem gegenwärtigen Stand des Wissens sind für die anderen Organmanifestationen keine als relevant zu bezeichnenden Tumormarker bedeutsam (Abb. 4.1).
