Zusammenfassung
Wir berichten über eine atypische Erstmanifestation einer spinalen Muskelatrophie vom Typ I nach Werdnig-Hoffmann. Die Erkrankung präsentierte sich erstmals im Alter von 3 1/2 Monaten, und zwar anfänglich unter dem Bild eines Diabetes mellitus, Dieser stellte sich dann später als streßbedingt heraus, nämlich im Rahmen einer Ateminsuffizienz, die durch eine Parese beider vorderer Zwerchfellkuppen hervorgerufen wurde.
