Zusammenfassung

Markt im weiten Sinn gibt es überall, wo Tausch öfters vorkommt. Auch in zentralverwalteten Wirtschaften gibt es Märkte in diesem weiten Sinn. Im Dienste der Klarheit ist es deshalb geboten, dort etwas überdeutlich zu werden, wo Mißverständnisse entstehen könnten. ‘Kapitalismus’ dient gewöhnlich als Kurzformel für ‘freie, private Marktwirtschaft’ — die normale Bedeutung von ‘Marktwirtschaft’. Ein Wort kann sich seine Umgebung nicht aussuchen. Einem Wort mit positivem Valeur drängen sich, wie einem attraktiven Mädchen, verschiedene Begleiter auf. Es kann dabei in schlechte Gesellschaft geraten oder einen Begleiter bekommen, der so unpassend ist, daß wir ein »unmögliches« Paar vor uns haben.
