PMMA — Hinterkammerlinsenimplantation bei Kleinschnittechnik

Zusammenfassung

Ein neues Modell einer PMMA-Hinterkammerlinse mit einem optischen Durchmesser von 5 mm ermöglicht eine Implantation bei Kleinschnittechnik und einen Wundverschluß mit einer Naht. Erfahrungen nach 180 Implantationen zeigen zufriedenstellende Ergebnisse, Komplikationen wie Dezentrierungen, Nachstarbildungen und Fibrinreaktionen stehen in direktem Zusammenhang mit intraoperativen Problemen. Unter den Voraussetzungen einer zentrischen Kapsulorhexis mit glattem Rand, einer möglichst vollständigen Kortexentfernung und einer gesicherten Kapselsackfixierung können ausgezeichnete morphologische und funktionelle Resultate erwartet werden.

Summary

A newly styled one piece PMMA posterior Chamber intraocular lens (IOL) with an optic diameter of 5 mm allows a small incision technique with a 1 stitch wound closure. In the majority of 180 eyes operated on using this method the postoperative findings were excellent. Complications, such as displacements of the IOL, fibrinous reactions and secondary cataract formation, were found to have a direct correlation to intraoperative problems. With prerequisites of a central continous circular capsulotomy, a complete removal of all cortical remmants and an in-the-bag fixation of the IOL, optimal morphological and functional results can be expected.
