Zusammenfassung

In zwei Studien wird der Einfluß dispositioneller und aktueller Streßbewältigung auf subjektive und objektive Belastungsindikatoren vor und nach einer Operation analysiert. Die Ergebnisse weisen einen deutlichen Einfluß des Meßzeitpunkts wie auch der Streßbewältigungsvariablen Vigilanz und kognitive Vermeidung nach. Diese Befunde werden auf dem Hintergrund einer persönlichkeitsorientierten Konzeption von Streßbewältigung diskutiert. Konsequenzen für die psychologische Betreuung von chirurgischen Patienten werden aufgezeigt.

Summary

Two studies analyze the influence of dispositional and actual coping on subjective and objective stress indicators assessed before and after surgery. The results demonstrate significant time effects as well as influences of the coping variables vigilance and cognitive avoidance on the different stress parameters. These relationships are discussed within the framework of a personality-oriented conception of coping. Consequences of the results for psychological interventions with surgical patients are presented.
