Anomaly Index and Induced Charge on a Noncompact Surface in an External Magnetic Field
The global geometric characteristics influencing fermion charge fractionization on a noncompact space are discussed. In addition to the known characteristics which is related to the curvature tensor (the space part of the total anomaly) we introduce the characteristics which is related to the curvature scalar. The induced vacuum charge on a noncompact simply-connected surface in external magnetic field is found to depend on the latter characteristics and the total magnetic flux.
