Abstract
Northern Ireland is a province of the United Kingdom of about 170 km2. Its population of ca. 1.6 million is located in one medium-sized city, one small city, a series of small towns and a fertile and beautiful countryside. Medical care (of a high standard) and prescriptions are free for most people at the point of delivery, paid for by a levy on all salaries.
