Zusammenfassung

Die heutige akademische Jugend kam zu Beginn der 70er Jahre gerade in den Kindergarten, als sich Eltern und Erzieher zunehmend der Auswirkungen früher Sozialisation und traditioneller, geschlechtsbezogener Rollenstereotypien bewußt wurden. Es war dies die Periode feministischer Bewußtwerdung und des Aktivismus gegen die sexuelle Diskriminierung. Die gegenwärtige Collegegeneration, die auf dem Höhepunkt dieser bedeutenden Veränderungen aufgewachsen ist, reifte Mitte der 80er Jahre zur ersten Generation der „neuen Männer“ und „neuen Frauen“ heran.
