Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag werde ich das psychoanalytische Modell der Homosexualität kritisch untersuchen. Dabei werde ich mich besonders auf die zentrale These konzentrieren, daß die Homosexualität einer pathologischen Bedingung unterliegt, die durch eine gestörte Erziehung und einen Stillstand in der Entwicklung hervorgerufen wird. Obwohl die umfassende Darstellung dieses Gegenstandes allein schon ein ganzes Buch füllen würde, gibt es andererseits erstaunlich wenige grundlegende Konzepte und Anregungen, die von der Psychoanalyse zur Erforschung der sexuellen Orientierung entwickelt wurden. Das zugrundeliegende Modell wurde von Freud zu Beginn der 20. Jahrhunderts vorgelegt und später von Analytikern zu Freuds Lebzeiten ohne größere Veränderungen ausgearbeitet. Es blieb bis in die 40er Jahre im wesentlichen unverändert, als durch die von Sandor Rado vorgenommenen Vereinfachungen eine größere innere Konsistenz erreicht und die Theorie in ihrer „klassischen“ Gestalt konsolidiert wurde. Seit den 60er Jahren sind Teile der Theorie mit Konzepten über die Geschlechtsidentität angereichert worden. Aber andererseits wurde wenig hinzugefügt oder verändert.
