Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag werde ich versuchen, ein integratives psychoanalytisches Rahmenkonzept zur Person des werdenden Vaters zu entwickeln. Ich werde damit beginnen, kurz die allgemeine Vernachlässigung des Vaters während der Schwangerschaft und die frühe Zeit der Elternschaft sowie die Evidenz eindeutiger Beiträge der Väter für das Neugeborene zu diskutieren. Der darauf folgende Teil beschäftigt sich mit der psychodynamischen Grundlage für die Motivation eines Mannes zur Vaterschaft. Abschließend stelle ich die spezifischen Stadien der prospektiven Vaterschaft aus einer psychoanalytischen Sicht vor. Ferner werde ich die psychoanalytische und die entwicklungspsychologische Literatur betrachten und sie mit experimentellen Befunden, Fallbeobachtungen und persönlichen Erfahrungen verbinden.
