Kurzfassung
Spricht man in der Datenbankgemeinde heutzutage von Datenmodellierung, denkt man meist an objektorientierte Konzepte. Nach der Ära der semantischen Datenmodelle hat objektorientiertes Gedankengut mittlerweile allgemeine Verbreitung gefunden; erklärtes Ziel sind Datenmodelle, die flexibler und gleichzeitig anwendungsfreundlicher in der Hinsicht sind, daß sie der menschlichen Perzeption „der Welt“ näherkommen.
Allerdings fehlt dem objektorientierten Paradigma zur Zeit noch ein allseits akzeptiertes theoretisches Fundament. Einen Ansatz, diese Lücke in der Forschung zu schließen, stellen Abstrakte Objekttypen (AOTs) dar; mit formal ebenso abgesicherten Methoden wie bei Abstrakten Datentypen (ADTs) sollen dabei Populationen von interagierenden Objekten beschrieben werden.
Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt Zwischenergebnisse aus einem laufenden Forschungsvorhaben der FhG-AGD vor, bei dem eine Sprache für AOTs entwickelt werden soll. Die Brauchbarkeit der Konzepte wird anhand einer exemplarischen Miniwelt CAD_SYSTEM demonstriert.
