Implicit Upwind Finite-Difference Simulation of Laminar Hypersonic Flow Over a 2D Ramp

  • Conference paper
Hypersonic Flows for Reentry Problems

Summary

Laminar hypersonic flow of perfect gas over a semi-infinite flat plate and a 15° ramp is numerically simulated by solving the two-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations for the steady state using an implicit upwind finite-difference scheme based on approximate factorization and the total variation diminishing (TVD) method of Harten and Yee.
