Zusammenfassung

In ihrem gleichzeitig nachdenklichen wie ironischen Editorial einer psycho-pharmakologischen Zeitschrift schlagen Shader u. Greenblatt (1982) die Bezeichnung „mind sweeper“ für den psychopharmakologisch ausgebildeten Psychiater vor. Die Autoren deuten am Beispiel einer — in diesem Fall erfolgreichen — medikamentösen Intervention in der Therapie einer (u. a.) eßgestörten Patientin die vielschichtige Problematik an, die im Mit- oder Nebeneinander von Patient, Psychopharmakologen und Psychotherapeuten entstehen kann. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei nicht nur diagnostische Schwierigkeiten, beispielsweise die Frage, wie häufig einer Eßstörung eine Angsterkrankung oder eine affektive Psychose zugrunde liegt (Shader u. Greenblatt 1982). Es geht dabei vielmehr auch um andere Phänomene und Gesichtspunkte, die, auch wenn sie nur zurückhaltend diskutiert werden, wahrscheinlich von mindestens gleicher Relevanz sind. An dieser Stelle sollen sie nur schlagwortartig als „berufspolitische Konkurrenz“ sowie mit den aus der Psychotherapie bekannten Begriffen „Widerstand“ und „Agieren“ skizziert werden. Dieses Spannungsfeld bildet den Rahmen für alle Überlegungen zum Verhältnis zwischen Psycho- und Pharmakotherapie, und damit auch für diese Arbeit zur Pharmakotherapie der Bulimia nervosa (B. n.).
