Abstract

Precise determination of the endurance performance limits (anaerobic threshold, AT) is important for both athletes and patients with limited cardiac function. In endurance-trained individuals, it gives functional capacity and enables training management by precise definition of training intensities (3, 5, 7). In patients with limited cardiac function, the anaerobic threshold defines the maximum exercise capacity (2).
