Abstract
The spectral dependence of the photoelectric response of metal/a-Si:H/metal photovoltaic configurations in the energy range 0.75 − 2.2 is used to study the energy level diagram of the device.
Significant information is recovered from the spectra with reverse/forward bias and illumination. The results are interpreted as arising from alternative generation processes. We can identify internal photoemission, optical band-to-band absorption and localized-to-extended-state absorption.
