Manifestation of Non-equilibrium Behavior in Thermal Desorption Dynamics

Abstract

The model proposed by Efrima et al./l-a/ is used to follow the time evolution of the bound states population of the Ar/W system and the vibrational relaxation is studied. The question of whether or not the adatom can be desorbed by a phonon pulse is addressed.
