Abstract

This article first presents the needs to simulate an entire transmission chain including the electronic parts. Then it describes previously developed works for modeling power amplifiers driving the transducers, as well as transformers and their associated magnetic cores, the analog simulator beeing a SPICE derivative. Several sections show how the studies can be carried out at different levels in order to permit observation of different aspects, such as global behavior or component behavior, etc. Comparisons are made between simulations and measurements. Finally, a section on transmission line optimisation and efficiency shows how simulation could benefit their design.
