Abstract
Eczema and dermatitis — the terms are often taken as synonymous — account for the largest proportion of skin diseases treated in dermatology clinics and hospitals. This applies to tropical and subtropical regions as well. For systematic reasons, a distinction is made between exogenous and endogenous eczemas.
