Perioperative Strahlentherapie beim Rektumkarzinom

Zusammenfassung

Unter perioperativer Strahlentherapie des Rektumkarzinoms ist die präoperative oder postoperative Radiotherapie der primär im Gesunden resektablen Karzinome (R0) bzw. der primär nicht radikal operablen Karzinome (R1 und R2) zu verstehen. Sie stellt also (mit und ohne zusätzliche Chemotherapie) eine adjuvante Maßnahme zur Operation dar, welche nach wie vor als primäre Therapie der Wahl gilt. Die Rate an Lokalrezidiven soll gesenkt und die Dauer des rezidivfreien bzw. gesamten Überlebens verlängert werden.
