Zusammenfassung
Die Prognose des Magenkarzinoms hat sich in den letzten Jahren nicht entscheidend gebessert. In den UICC-Stadien I und II können 50–80% der Patienten durch eine kurative Resektion geheilt werden [17]. Bei sogenannter kurativer Resektion lokal fortgeschrittener Tumoren (Stadium Illb, IV) beträgt die mediane Überlebenszeit nur 7–12 Monate [16] und bei nicht kurativ resezierbarem, lokal fortgeschrittenen Magenkarzinom oder bei Vorliegen von Fernmetastasen nur 4–(6) Monate [17].
