Characterization and Classification of Fracture Surface Morphology in Geologic Formations
Fracture surface markings (FSM) in rocks are often overlooked due to their faint morphologies, and their exact features are revealed only to the careful observer. Their classification involves meticulous examination and comprehensive description. A qualitatitve characterization is presented in this chapter, using a set of complementary categories. Certain FSM features are also characterized quantitatively.
