Zusammenfassung

Osteocalcin (OC, bone GLA protein) ist ein aus 48 Aminosäuren bestehendes Knochenmatrixprotein, das mittels Radioimmunoassay in der peripheren Zirkulation nachgewiesen werden kann [8]. Es wird angenommen, daß die im Serum gemessenen Osteocalcinspiegel der de novo Synthese durch die Osteoblasten entstammen und damit einen biochemischen Parameter der Knochenneubildung darstellen [9]. In der Literatur finden sich bezüglich der Altersabhängigkeit der Serumosteocalcinspiegel widersprüchliche Angaben. Ziel unserer Studie war es daher, den Einfluß des Alters und des Geschlechtes auf die Serumosteocalcinspiegel bei Normalpersonen zu untersuchen.
