Abstract

Thanks to progress made in the area of microcatheters and balloons, it is now possible to consider endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms [1, 3, 7]. The ideal method consists in exclusion of the aneurysm by placing a detachable balloon inside the aneurysm pouch, while at the same time preserving the parent vessel (Fig. 1).
