Zusammenfassung

Als erstes Zwischenergebnis einer randomisierten prospektiven Studie über das Auftreten von Iristransilluminationsdefekten bei 75 Augen, die einer extrakapsulären Katarakt-Extraktion mit Implantation einer kapselsackfixierten Hinterkammerlinse mit um 10° anteklinierter Haptik unterzogen wurden, konnten wir feststellen, daß unmittelbar postoperativ vorhandene ITD über den bisherigen Beobachtungszeitraum von einem halben Jahr keine Tendenz zur Größenzunahme zeigten und sich ausschließlich auf den oberen Irisquadranten beschränkten. Wir führen sie auf die intraoperative Belastung durch die Kernexpression und bei der Arbeit mit dem Irisretraktor während des Saug-Spül-Vorganges zurück.

Summary

As the first interim result of a randomized prospective study on the occurrence of iris transillumination defects (ITDs) in 75 eyes that underwent extracapsular cataract extraction with implantation of a posterior-chamber lens with a 10° angled haptic in the capsular bag, we found that ITDs present immediately after surgery showed no tendency to enlarge over a 6-month observation period and remained confined to the superior iris quadrant. We attribute the defects to the intraoperative stresses associated with expression of the nucleus and use of the iris retractor during the aspiration-irrigation process.
