Abstract

Rehabilitation after breast cancer treatment has become easier than in the past, as the iatrogenic effects of breast cancer therapies today are much slighter. However, modern rehabilitation units have increasingly investigated the delicate psychological mechanisms which are connected with breast cancer. It has been said that diagnosis of breast cancer may represent an overwhelming human crisis for the patient, for her family and also for her doctor. The rehabilitation process must, therefore, consider any physical damage to be corrected within the setting of this human crisis.
