Air Pollution Problems in Portugal — A Review

Abstract

Located in a region with a climate that promotes good dispersion conditions, and with a relatively low level of industrial and urban development, Portugal is one of the European countries with less air quality problems. Due to this fact, the technical and scientific study of air pollution in Portugal is in a preliminary stage. As a result of this situation is the incipient state of the air quality monitoring network and the missing of legislation in the air pollution domain. One can also to evidence the reduced number of scientists that works in this branch of investigation.
