Dynamics of Solitons on 4He Films

Abstract

In this paper we present a numerical study of the time evolution of local density waves in thin 4He films. We also consider surface wave propagation in a saturated film and show that in the small amplitude regime the dynamics is described by the KP equation. The phenomenon of two-soliton resonances is also discussed.
