Abstract

Some basic approaches to modeling nonpoint-source nitrate contamination in ground water are reviewed including statistical models, reservoir models, analytic models, and numerical transport models. Ongoing studies in Nebraska are used to illustrate several modeling approaches. Although there are a range of models that could be useful in modeling nitrate pollution in Nebraska, the data base limits the choices to relatively simple models in most cases.
