Zusammenfassung
Leukoplakien, definiert als weißliche Flecken, die klinisch-histologisch anderen Krankheitsbildern nicht zuzuordnen sind [3, 11], finden sich im Bereich der Schleimhaut des oberen Atmungs- und Verdauungstraktes bei ca. 3% der erwachsenen Bevölkerung der westlichen Industrienationen [2, 6]. Männer sind etwas häufiger betroffen als Frauen.
