Pattern Formation in the Spatially Modulated Electrohydrodynamic Convection of Liquid Crystals
We study two dimensional patterns and their stability in the spatially modulated electrohydrodynamic convection of liquid crystals through the analysis of an amplitude equation. We also propose a new equivalent spin model which shares some features of the amplitude equation in a certain case.
