Abstract
The first orthotopic liver graft was performed by Starzl in 1963 and the first such transplant in Cambridge by Sir Roy Calne in 1968 marked the beginning of the Cambridge/King’s College hospital series. To date, 689 patients have received liver grafts in our program, and in 137 (19.6%) of these patients the reason for transplantation was hepatic malignancy.
