Zusammenfassung
Strahlenresistenz ist ein klinischer Begriff; strahlenbiologisch gibt es keine Strahlenresistenz. Wir sprechen dann von Strahlenresistenz bzw. geringer Strahlenempfindlichkeit, wenn die Strahlensensibilität des Tumorgewebes nur wenig geringer, gleich oder höher als die des umgebenden Normalgewebes ist. Natürlich könnte man jeden Tumor zerstören: Dies gelänge aber nur mit dem Preis der schweren Strahlenspätfolge am Normalgewebe, in dem angesprochenen Fall also an Dünndarm, Dickdarm, Harnblase, früher auch an Haut- und Unterhautgewebe.
