Behandlung des metastasierenden malignen Melanoms mit einem Endotoxin enthaltenden Bakterienlysat. Ergebnisse einer Pilotstudie

Zusammenfassung

Über die Heilung verschiedenartiger Krebserkrankungen nach fieberhaften Infekten ist in der Vergangenheit wiederholt berichtet worden. Eine mit Fieber einhergehende Stimulation der Immunantwort ist zum Beispiel nach Injektion von Endotoxin bekannt. Im Fiebermaximum sind unter anderem die Spiegel von Interleukin-I, Interleukin-II, gamma-Interferon und Tumornekrosefaktor erhöht nachzuweisen [1–5]. Insgesamt führt die Endotoxin-Injektion zu einem breiten Spektrum vom Einzelphänomenen, die als nützlich in der Tumorabwehr verstanden werden können. Es erschien daher gerechtfertigt, einen derartigen Therapieversuch beim metastasierenden Melanom zu unternehmen.
