Zusammenfassung

In den letzten 10 Jahren hat sich durch die Entwicklung und den Einsatz moderner molekularbiologischer Methoden unser Wissen über die Ätiologie des Zervixkarzinoms wesentlich erweitert. Die entscheidende Entdeckung war der Nachweis von HPV-DNS in mehr als 90% der untersuchten Zervixkarzinome. HPV-Typen, die man in Zervixkarzinomproben oder CIN-III — Biopsien nachweisen kann, werden als Risikotypen betrachtet.
