Zusammenfassung
Im Zuge der Übertragung von Blut und Blutprodukten kam es in den vergangenen Jahren immer wieder zur Entwicklung von Hepatitiden, die serologisch nicht als Hepatitis A, B oder D identifiziert werden konnten. Im Zusammenhang mit diesen als Non-A-Non-B bezeichneten Hepatitiden konnte ein Virus gefunden werden, das nach Entwicklung eines spezifischen Antikörpertests zu dieser Erkrankung eine hohe Korrelation zeigte. Dieser, als Hepatitis-C-Virus benannte Erreger, scheint für einen Großteil der Non-A-Non-B-Hepatitiden verantwortlich zu sein [1, 3, 11].
