Abstract

The Pugwash Movement can claim to have undertaken great efforts to bring about a comprehensive, worldwide ban on the development, storage, proliferation and use of chemical weapons. There is no need to list here the wide range of activities so far undertaken by Pugwash on “Chemical Weapons” and the rich variety of topics discussed in this context at conferences, symposia and specialized workshops. There is hardly any subject of relevance to the ban on chemical weapons to which profound treatment has not been given by Pugwash.
