Abstract
The application of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to the analysis of biogenic amines is a recent development. For the separation and quantification of histamine by HPLC several different techniques are already in use, which differ in options such as method of derivatization, type of column and detection principle (Fig. 1).
