Abstract

There are several pitfalls in polymer HPLC which can cause unnoticed loss of sample, incomplete elution, or imperfect separations. Effects of that kind not only make quantitative evaluation illusive but also may severely falsify even qualitative conclusions. Since these effects disturb the common linear dependence of peak area on sample size, quantification of suitable calibrating chromatograms is strongly recommended.
