Zusammenfassung
Dargestellt werden die Verletzungsbefunde am Hals, die allgemeinen Erstik-kungszeichen, die Histologie (insbesondere Lunge) und die äußeren Begleitumstände von 5 Todesfällen nach Unterarmwürgegriffen in Hamburg und Wien. Es handelte sich um 3 tödliche Zwischenfälle bei Polizeieinsätzen (Hamburg) sowie 2 Tötungsdelikte (Wien). Diskutiert werden insbesondere Fragen zu Art und Ausmaß der Atemwegs- und Gefäßobstruktion am Hals und des dadurch bedingten zeitlichen Geschehensablaufs sowie der Handlungsfähigkeit der Opfer.
Summary
Five case histories (three from Hamburg, two from Vienna) concerning fatalities caused by neck holds are presented. The morphological findings on the neck, general signs of obstructive asphyxia, histology of the lung and the circumstances of death are described. Three fatalities (in Hamburg) resulted from the use of choke holds to struggling, combative persons by police officers; two victims (in Vienna) were killed by perpetrators. The factors influencing cerebral ischemia, loss of consciousness, defense capacity of the victims and the fatal outcome are discussed.
