Comparison Between Spinal Cord Evoked Potential and Cortical Evoked Potential by Experimental Dorsal Compression on the Thoracic Spinal Cord
To prevent iatrogenic spinal cord injury during surgery, in Japan spinal cord evoked potential monitoring is frequently performed, but in Europe and America cortical evoked potential monitoring is mainly used. However, only a few references about the comparison of both potentials are found in the literature. The purpose of this report is to define differences in monitoring abilities between both potentials during the experimental dorsal compression of the spinal cord.
