Zusammenfassung

Zu den Haupttodesursachen bei Personen unter 40 Jahren zählen schwere Traumen des Herzens und der großen Gefäße [1, 3, 9, 10, 22, 25]. Bei jedem polytraumatisierten bzw. thorakal verletzten Patienten muß daher eine kardiale Mitbeteiligung sowohl bei stumpfen als auch penetrierenden Traumen in Betracht gezogen werden. Frühzeitige Diagnostik und Therapie können für diese Patienten lebensrettende Bedeutung haben.
