Abstract
The internal mammary artery is a very constant vessel, which can be found paramedial, on the right and left anterior, inner thoracic wall. It should therefore be termed more correctly the internal thoracic artery (see also Sect. 2.1). However, it has entered the literature as the internal mammary artery and is cited as such in over 90% of the papers dealing with it.
