Zusammenfassung
Dauerhafte Schädigungen der Wachstumsfuge erfolgen am häufigsten durch Trauma, Entzündung oder Tumor. Kommt es dabei zur Ausbildung von transphysealen Knochenbrüchen, so ist der Wachstumsfehler progredient [1, 5–7, 9, 10, 16, 26]. Das Ausmaß der Fehlstellung hängt vom Alter des Kindes ab, d.h. von der noch vorhandenen Wachstumspotenz, der betroffenen Fuge und der Lokalisation innerhalb der Fuge. Da von der proximalen Tibia und der distalen Femurepiphysenfuge prozentual das stärkste Längenwachstum ausgeht, wird die Fehlstellung bei der Störung dieser Fugen besonders gravierend ausfallen. Eine mehr zentral gelegene Verknöcherung führt i. allg. zu einer Verkürzung, während dessen marginal gelegene Verknöcherungen Achsenfehlstellungen hervorrufen.
