Zusammenfassung
Die Ausrichtung des Produktionsprogramms an den speziellen Bedürfnissen der Käufer führt auch bei Produkten, die über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg in großen Stückzahlen herzustellen sind dazu, daß verschiedene Varianten bzw. Modelle eines Grundproduktes zu fertigen sind. Unterscheiden sich die Modelle relativ wenig in Art und Anzahl der Arbeitsgänge, so wird das Produktionssystem häufig in Form einer getakteten Mehrproduktfließlinie organisiert. Der Produktionsprozeß eines jeden Modells wird dann in mehreren hintereinander geschalteten und zeitlich miteinander verketteten Arbeitsstationen einer Linie vollzogen. Sind in einem Planungszeitraum mehrere Modelle in vorgegebenen Stückzahlen zu fertigen, so können diese losweise oder in beliebigem Wechsel einzelner Produkteinheiten verschiedener Modelle hergestellt werden. Im Hinblick auf kurze Durchlaufzeiten und auf einen möglichst niedrigen Bestand an Zwischen- und Endprodukten wird i.a. der beliebige Modellwechsel bevorzugt, sofern er produktionstechnisch möglich ist.
