Zusammenfassung

Nur in wenigen Bereichen unseres Faches findet man solch kontroverse Standpunkte, wie sie zu den Arbeiten der Lazarus-Gruppe in den letzten 20 Jahren geäußert wurden. Auch heute noch scheint sich die Zahl derer, die sich im Feld der Bewältigungsforschung bewegen, in zwei Lager zu spalten: die Vertreter und Befürworter von R. S. Lazarus, die seinen Ansatz als wegweisend bezeichnen, sowie die Gegner, für die seine Theorien als Spekulationen und nicht beweisbare Annahmen schon fast dem Rahmen wissenschaftlicher Gesetze widersprechen.
